Le Scoop || July 2nd, 2025
I had a Caketalk with Gustaf Westman in Paris, Coors Light made a "Cold Tux", a Goldfish carwash is coming, Kareem is curating a Mayo Museum, Olive Garden Pasta Pool Floaties, and SO much more!
Dear Readers & Cake Eaters,
Happy Summer!
Let me just first and foremost say I love The Cakewalk community SO SO MUCH. All of your support, intel, and overall engagement is something beyond my wildest dreams so thank you and if you’re new, WELCOME!
I want you to know that the themed newsletters are still alive and well and that one is coming very soon—life has just been life-ing a bit too hard lately so I’m behind. Also, I hope you like the weekly format of Le Scoop—it certainly takes a huge load off of my plate and the goal is to make it more digestible for everyone. Just a quick reminder that my inbox is always open for pitches, collabs, and more (I finally got an official email address too!) - 💌 howdy@thecakewalk.club
Lastly, I wanted to share that last weekend I got the immense honor of interviewing Gustaf Westman at his Paris Pop-up—the third leg of his 5-City Euro Summer Pop-Up Tour. This interview kicks off a new video format of my Caketalk by The Cakewalk series which you’ll see and hear more about soon (hopefully). You can view the video below and be sure to follow @thecakewalk.club if you’re not already! :)
Now let’s get back to business with this week’s insanely long Le Scoop!

Doublet SS26 Collection - ICYMI Paris Fashion Week (Men’s SS26) wrapped up on Sunday and heat wave be damned — it truly felt like everyone was in Paris last week. There were shows, there was Beyoncé, and there were parties and presentations galore. But what caught my attention was the Japanese brand Doublet, established in 2012 by designer Masayuki Ino and winner of the 2018 LVMH Grand Prize. I’ve seen snippets of Doublet shows in friends’ stories from past seasons, and all I know is their shows always seem fun. For obvious reasons, this season’s collection caught my eye in a different way — as in. . . it’s got me seriously wondering how fast I can start a feet account just to buy the entire collection lolz.
This collection screams Moschino to me — but not in a copy-and-paste way and definitely not in a bad way. Rather, as gaudy as it is, it still feels wearable (or at least to someone like me, lolz). It’s certainly less contrived than Balenciaga, but that’s just my personal opinion — fashion is art is subjective (and also, it’s ok, you can say it— sometimes just plain fugly lolz). I’m not going to wax poetic or pretend that you or I care about the “inspiration behind the collection” (you can Google that yourself) but I will say Doublet is definitely now on my ones-to-watch list. Flip through the entire runway collection HERE.
Now let’s take “cool fashion” and apply it a bit more literally (or a lot more) because last month, Coors Light debuted the Cold Tux. This is “the first-ever tuxedo engineered with cooling technology, at a wedding in Winter Park, Florida” in partnership with M ssn g P eces and creative agency Droga5. “It features a breathable linen shell and a hidden refrigerating core powered by ice pack rods to keep you cool from the inside out. Just like a can of Coors Light, when the Chill-o-stat turns blue, the suit is perfectly chilled.”
While they’re not (currently) selling the entire Cold Tux, they DID introduce “the BrrrTie: a refrigerated neck accessory designed to target one of the body's key temperature regulation zones. When chilled, the BrrrTie delivers up to 40 minutes of refreshing cool, providing just enough relief to get through "I Do" without breaking a sweat.” Lolz. They released 100 of the BrrrTies in 2 drops at $32 a pop and naturally, they’re now sold out. As someone who sweats from walking 5 feet and finds the heat absolutely abominable and unbearable, I can’t bring myself to hate on this.
Goldfish will operate a “retrieval service” (their version of a car wash and detail) this July 4th weekend from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Jul 3 and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Jul 4 at 551 NJ-72, Manahawkin, New Jersey. Drive up and you can expect “a complimentary car refresh consisting of an orange, sudsy exterior wash and interior vacuuming of any Goldfish mess left behind” as well as the “First-Ever Goldfish Flavor Wall” featuring 15 flavors of Goldfish of which you can get a snack refill before you hit the road. Maybe one of the most adorable brand activations I’ve seen this year. But wait, there’s MORE!
For the rest of us that aren’t in New Jersey, cause like, obviously lolz these ADORABLE “Goldfish Crumb Camouflaging Car Mats” will be available for pre-order as a set of 2 HERE at 9am (EST I’m assuming) on July 3 & 4 for $20. I’ll be watching that site like a hawk and praying to the Goldfish Gods because I NEED THESE as if my life depended on it—I have an orange Jeep Wrangler and um . . . could they be more on brand for me?! Wish me luck!
Olive Garden wants to make your pool saucier this summer by releasing 3 limited edition pasta pool floaties although only one of them is still available for purchase—the Floatin’ Fettuccini Pool Noodle. The other two—the Relaxin’ Rigatoni Pool Noodle and the Takin’ It Easy Tortelloni are now sold out. I’m sure the Floatin’ Fettuccini will still make a splash lolz.

99 Ranch Market teased a couple of images on their IG a few days ago with what looks like a whole line of merch that drops tomorrow, July 3rd. I’m guessing that after taking a leaf out of the Trader Joe’s playbook with the seemingly limited release of their mini tote bags (which I’ve still yet to get my hands on), they saw how hot merch is and it was only a matter of time before they released their own line. I guess we’ll find out tomorrow!

“Hellmann's Mayonnaise taps Kareem Rahma to curate art gallery pop-up featuring mayo-inspired masterpieces” in other words, a Mayo Museum is coming, lolz. “The Art of the Mayoment” gallery opens on July 9th at 155 Suffolk Street, New York City. Somebody report back. Please.
Also in NYC, Coming Soon (one of NYC’s coolest design & gift shops) is celebrating the launch of a Jelly Mirror by Ready To Hang on July 10th and YOU can RSVP for the “Jelly Tasting” party—rsvp@comingsoonnewyork.com.
As you can imagine, the FOMO is real for me so again, someone please report back. :)
Venchi launched 3 new limited edition gelato flavors as part of their Mediterranean Summer series—Parmigiano Reggiano, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, and Caramel & Rosemary. I tasted the Parmigiano on Sunday night with my buddy
and she seemed to like it although I found it bland—they need to amp up the savory/parmigiano in my opinion. The other two flavors were sold out but I’m sure you can’t go wrong with olive oil. The rosemary element combined with caramel is debatable though. Lmk if you try!
Veso is launching a 2nd batch of their Tomato Vermouth on July 8th which sold out pretty fast last year. I was able to snag one in time and let me say, I’m a big fan. Also a big fan of their Olive Vermouth which is nice and briny —just how you want it. I love it by itself on ice. (And yes, I bought them! - I’ll always disclose if something’s gifted but more importantly, will always give my honest opinion! And introducing. . .
Honorable Mentions:
These are the things that are kind of newsworthy but maybe have boring visuals.
Or maybe it’s not that newsworthy. Or maybe it totally 100% is and I’m just tired.
Either or, #themoreyouknow right? (This section probs won’t always be necessary because some news cycles are more exciting than others.)
Dunkin’® and Sabrina Carpenter reunite for Sabrina’s Strawberry Daydream Refresher. Of course they made an ad for it, watch it here.
Baskin Robbins x Sydney Sweeney ft. a “Sweet on Sydney Menu”. On deck, Sydney’s Signature Scoop, featuring a Rainbow Sherbet in a chocolate-dipped waffle cone with rainbow sprinkles and topped with gummi bear minis as well as Sydney’s Signature Fizz, which blends Rainbow Sherbet with STARRY™ lemon lime soda* and is topped off with gummi bear minis. They actually made the worst ad. Love Baskin Robbins. SS is cool. This “collab” didn’t need to happen.
That’s all folks!
The Cakewalk may earn some $$$ if you make a purchase through one of the links above.

that banana costume is everything
Caramel and rosemary is an interesting combination. Have you tried the olive oil ice cream trend? I feel like the texture would be slimy, but some people really like it.
