Twin Peaks' Double R Diner will make a one day appearance in London, FeetFinder releases a summer treat for the foot enthusiasts, a wine glass carrier made of 100% Italian calf leather, and more!
London Calling! To celebrate the arrival of Twin Peaks on Mubi later this month as well as the show’s 35th anniversary, you can go get yourself a damn fine cup of coffee and some cherry pie at the show’s beloved Double R Diner which will be popping up at London’s New River Cafe in Stoke Newington on Wednesday, June 18th for one day only from 11am-7pm. You can expect to win limited edition Twin Peaks swag throughout the day. Now THIS is the type of fiction meets real life action that we (I) LOVE to see!
NYC Fam - Grillo’s Pickles’ PickLES Popup comes back for a 2nd year (at least, I think it’s the 2nd) featuring two week’s worth of fun food collabs and more! You can expect cameos from the likes of Vulgar Chef (a Cakewalk fav that’s appeared in a few NL’s before), Pop Up bagels, 7th Street Burger, and more. See the rest of the lineup here. Can’t wait to make it in person one of these days!

Speaking of NY, Morgenstern’s x Russ & Daughters have reunited for another collab series this summer with 6 flavors being released over the course of June, July, August, & September. Currently available are Sesame Bagel, Chocolate Toffee Matzo, & Pistachio Halvah—Choco Toffee Matzo would be my pick!

SPEAKING OF FINGER LICKING GOOD ICE CREAM COLLABS. . . or should I say, foot-lickin’ good. . . the headline speaks for itself. I guess we’re giving new meaning to feetlicking. . . Also I have no issues with this but I can only imagine how people with actual foot phobias are going to digest this info.
Summer sips are calling and so is this Wine Glass Carrier made from 100% Italian calf leather, made in Paris by French brand, Aurora Du. Talk about giving “slinging drinks” a whole new meaning. And in case you’re obsessed with having this type of accessory but not exactly in the position to be splurging on the Italian calf leather, I found a less rustic version that you can be swinging around town if you’re so inclined. Check it out here.

“A mysterious "ancient Roman" mosaic unveiled in central Rome this week features a banquet scene whose protagonists are dining on what appears to be fast food. However the mosaic, "unearthed" in the Galleria Alberto Sordi shopping mall, was nothing more than a publicity stunt by fast food giant McDonald's, news outlet RomaToday reports. Titled 'Enjoy the Classics', the installation is designed to replicate a banquet scene from ancient Rome, but with hamburgers and French fries, along with the McDonald's logo.” - via Wanted In Rome
According to Roma Today, this stunt is an artistic installation meant to celebrate this year’s Jubilee (a special holy year for Rome, Vatican City, and Italy) and will be on view until June 7th. Well played McDonald’s, well played.
"McDonald's wanted to create a unique experience that celebrates both the classics of Roman culture and its world-famous icons of tasteTo further celebrate this event, McDonald's has also announced the launch of a special menu, "Welcome to Rome", available in all restaurants in the Capital and designed specifically to best welcome pilgrims and tourists who will visit the city during the Holy Year.” - RomaToday
